ABOUT

The Cité du Train (City of the Train), museum of SNCF heritage, located in Mulhouse, invites you to relive the great adventure of railways in France, from its origins in 1827 to the present day.

Formerly known as the "French Railway Museum", the Cité du Train - Patrimoine SNCF has been welcoming the public since 1971 and sharing with them the incredible epic of the railways, whose particularity is to tell us about France, the French people and the territory at the same time.

Through its unique collection of rolling stock, models, railway objects, posters and art objects, the Cité du Train bears witness to two centuries of railway history in France - from the first steam locomotives to the TGV - and is now the largest railway museum in Europe.

3 EXHIBITION AND ACTIVITY AREAS

The Show Tour : 27 pieces of rolling stock staged across 6 themes in the spectacular atmosphere of a movie set.

The Platforms of History :64 pieces of rolling stock tracing the history of French railways and their technological evolution, from the oldest steam locomotive of 1844 to the TGV.

The Railway Panorama : An outdoor exhibition and activity area (miniature train on rails, draisine rides, turntable, carousel...) with an unobstructed view of modern trains passing by on the main lines.
